Are there any sports NOT of European origin?
Golf, soccer and curling come from Scotland.
American football owes it’s existence to England’s game of Rugby (from the school of the same name).
Basketball started in Great Britain as net-ball and baseball developed from the old English game of rounders.
The list goes on and on, from tennis to darts, rowing to skiing and all other winter sorts.
Then there’s boxing, wrestling, fencing, cricket, badminton, lacrosse, equestrian sports and bio-mechanical one’s like cycling and Formula- One racing.
Indeed, the list of European sports ( British, in particular) and those of European origin is so lengthy that it would be impossible to enumerate them all.
Polo comes to mind. Khazak nomads swatting goat heads and defeated enemy skulls about the Steppes.
And horse racing probably comes from that area, too. Euro horses were draft animals.
